The True Story of the Time the Government Printed a $100,000 Bill A $1 trillion-dollar coin seems like a high denomination to ask the government to print. Some say its weight could sink the Titanic! Why older actors resent Oscar-nominated kids

Isn't it admirable that a 9-year-old has accustomed an Oscar nomination, acceptable the youngest anytime to acquire that honor? Well, maybe not. I was at a Manhattan industry cafeteria dishing with a brace of over-40 actresses the added day, and they were beneath agog about the Oscar fizz surrounding Quvenzhane Wallis, age 9. The two accomplished veterans (one an Oscar winner, the added a SAG nominee) didn't wish to assume to be disturbing down the accomplishment of a admirable little girl, but … both agreed, in aside tones, that this was added accomplishment than performance. Where was the craft? However admirable the adolescent babe was in "The Beasts of the Southern Wild," her scampering about the Louisiana anchorage was not an acting accomplishment aces of an Oscar.
[ Photos: All-time youngest acting nominees ]
Experienced awning actors accept acceptable acumen to be a little peeved. They generally attempt for years to get a break, abundant beneath Oscar recognition. As the three of us bankrupt the amphitheater of our altercation so as not to be overheard, I said that as absorbing and airy as Wallis is as Hushpuppy in that Southern gothic fantasy, acclaim administrator Benh Zeitlin for the accomplishment (he got a choice today). The actresses seemed adequate to apprehend me, a journalist, clear the point that was authoritative the circuit in their world. Save those 5 important best-actress slots for acquainted the above achievements of alive actresses -- and let's see if Wallis will abide to accomplish in roles not tailored to her.
While Wallis gets acclaim for getting the absorbing centermost of “Beasts” at, the role draws on her congenital charm. She’s not addition in the way that, say, Naomi Watts did in “The Impossible” or Lawrence, who was so altered in “Silver Linings Playbook” from her Katniss Everdeen in “Hunger Games.”
Furthermore, Wallis’s accomplishment relied heavily on a voiceover account that was laid down afterwards the shoot.
Looking aback historically at the Awning Actors Guild Awards, which started in 1994, adolescent stars rarely get their nominations. A accessory has never won from the actors-only group, which boosts the altercation that actors apperceive it takes years to advance the craft.
Certainly, if I analyze 9-year-old Wallis's achievements with those of contenders snubbed by Oscar today -- Rachel Weisz in "Deep Blue Sea," Keira Knightley in "Anna Karenina," Marion Cotillard in "Rust and Bone," and Helen Mirren in "Hitchcock" -- I accept to accede with my two extra friends. It doesn't assume fair. How could the Academy discount these performances and accession up Wallis's? It seems active at best, and absolute arresting to alive actors, to abort to accede the ability and courage of these women who accept put themselves out there, stripping down physically and emotionally for role afterwards role.
When the actors sit down to vote for a champ in the best-actress category, this affect will blush their appearance of Wallis -- and it's ambiguous that she will win the statuette. She joins a continued history of adolescent and alien Oscar nominees. Remember Keisha Castle-Hughes from "Whale Rider" in 2002? Others in the account cover Justin Henry ("Kramer vs. Kramer"), Haley Joel Osment ("The Sixth Sense"), Quinn Cummings ("The Goodbye Girl"), and Mary Badham ("To Kill a Mockingbird").
OF course, there accept been acknowledged adolescent nominees, like Jodie Foster, Anna Paquin, and Abigail Breslin. My Academy Award-winning antecedent remembers allurement administrator Lee Daniels what would appear to his "Precious" brilliant Gabourey Sidibe afterwards his movie. As it turns out, he needn't accept been concerned. Sidibe has gone on to locations in "Tower Heist" and "Seven Psychopaths" and to a approved role in TV's "The Big C."
It makes faculty that accomplished actresses ability be resentful, but alone time will acquaint if Wallis is a one-hit admiration or if a brilliant has been born.

Hathaway's standout movie performance

Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway: Alpha autograph your accepting speech. Now that I've apparent "Les Miserables," I can affirm that "The Dark Knight Rises" star, who plays the bedevilled factory-worker-turned-prostitute Fantine -- and sings her tonsils off -- has hit a actual top note. In her acknowledging turn, Hathaway sings the signature song "I Dreamed a Dream" and brings the admirers to tears. She's like agreeable meat tenderizer -- already the tears alpha flowing, they don't stop for the blow of the movie.
Director Tom Hooper (who won an Oscar for "The King's Speech" two years ago) casting Hathaway perfectly. She has brilliant ability to burn, has the basic to attending acceptable atrophied in rags -- and articulate talent. This is the affectionate of strong, analytical acknowledging role that acutely array Oscars. (She'll get the Golden Globe, too!)
And here's something that I abstruse at the post-screening Q&A: Hathaway's mother, who was in the audience, played the role of Fantine in a Philadelphia assembly if Anne was alone seven. Hathaway appeared onstage afterward, her hair accepting developed to an appealing, but still short, Peter Pan-pixie. In the movie, Fantine sells her locks to pay a debt, and Hathaway gave chastening up on camera for the role. "When I eventually looked in the mirror I just anticipation I looked like my gay brother," she told the by-invitation-only audience.

'Les Miserables' Sneaks for Stars and Industry Assembly at Alice Tully Hall
I saw the cine at the actual aboriginal accessible screening Friday at 3 P.M. at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. Aswell in appearance were Hathaway, Hooper and co-stars Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried and Samantha Barks. I brought my aggregation of experts -- my two vocally-trained teenagers and their artist father. I accept it: I don't accept a agreeable ear so I brought in some ringers. As the pumped-up army abounding all the seats in the theater, I spied a man in the wings of the stage, bubbler a canteen of baptize and pacing. I anticipation it was a stagehand but, no, if the abode lights dimmed it angry out to be Hooper himself, pacing nervously and peeking through the curtains to get a attending at the audience.

Oscar-winning Administrator Tom Hooper Gives Thanks
When the tall, jeans-clad English administrator -- endure apparent acrimonious up his Oscar for "The King's Speech" two years ago -- took the stage, he autonomous for a absorbing humility. He told the accommodation matinee audience: "I'm beholden that I've finished." He accepted that he'd completed the blur at two a.m. He aswell quipped, "I'm beholden to Victor Hugo, who can't be actuality with us." The archetypal novel's columnist died in France in 1885.

The Admirers Thanked Hooper with a Continuing Ovation
Hooper didn't charge to anguish about the admirers reaction. The army was as admiring as amid girls at a "One Direction" concert. They greeted the cessation of the many, abounding agreeable numbers with acclaim and clapped for the administrator and anniversary aerialist at the end credits. If you tracked the applause, it seemed that Jackman, Crowe, Hathaway, Redmayne and newcomer Barks got a little added love. Again came the continuing ovation. Yes. And it was spontaneous.
But remember, it was ad-lib a part of a New York army of assembly anticipating a big success -- or a big failure.

Hathaway, Hooper, Redmayne, Seyfried and Barks reside off screen
Then the date lights came up on four director's chairs. The date aggregation added more, and more, and again Columbia University assistant Annette Insdorf alien the talent: Hooper, Redmayne, Barks, and Hathaway -- but not Seyfried. "What affectionate of mother would I be if I didn't acquaint my daughter, Amanda Seyfried," Hathaway abundantly adapted the oversight, apropos to the extra who plays her child, Cosette, on screen. It turns out that Seyfried had played the role afore in an abecedarian assembly at fifteen.
The altercation led off with what anybody who has apparent the film's featurette at the movies (I saw it at the Poughkeepsie Galleria afore "Skyfall" with a agnostic army of Bond watchers) already knows: the singing was all performed reside so that the actors could both emote and sing. This method, in adverse to the accepted convenance of laying down advance advanced and again lip synching on set, allows the amateur added abandon and captures the carelessness of reside performance. The aftereffect is abundantly acknowledged although there are times if both Jackman and Crowe assume to be carrying songs in that chat-sing way that recalls Rex Harrison in "My Fair Lady."

Hugh Jackman will be nominated for best actor
As the advocate Jean Valjean, Jackman goes from rotten-toothed aged captive to chichi ambassador to avoiding agent father, crumbling a acceptable twenty years forth the way. We knew he can sing -- he starred in "The Boy From Oz" on Broadway -- but there are times if he goes for the affect and talks out the lyrics to the damage of the melody. And, accuracy be told, the melodies of the songs become a little monotonous. (My bedmate claimed Neil Diamond's "I Am, I Said" started arena in his head.) In fact, Jackman may just be bigger than the material, and it's accessible that my expectations were so top that I was a little disappointed. And, in the end, he's up adjoin Daniel Day Lewis in "Lincoln," which is still the achievement to exhausted as far as the Oscars go.

Crowe can sing, but Redmayne can sing better
Oscar-winner Crowe has a bandage and he can sing in a rich, able articulation as the adamant adversary Inspector Javert. We adulation him as the villain. But sometimes his supply is a bit "yawning," an affair of diction. The adumbration is Redmayne, as Marius the adventurous advocate that avalanche in adulation with Cosette (Seyfried) at aboriginal sight. He just pulls out every stop in every arena he's in. His tortured, bawling songs of baffled adulation prove that Hooper's charge to reside singing works. We've apparent the amateur before, a lot of afresh in "My Anniversary with Marilyn," and I saw him on Broadway in the ball "Red," but this is the affectionate of achievement that makes him pop. If "Les Miserables" will get one best acknowledging amateur choice in that race, I'm risking a bet on Redmayne.

'Les Miserables' will be nominated for best account -- and could acquire the a lot of nominations ever
"Les Miserables" will absolutely be a part of the 5 best account nominees. As my Gold Derby aide Tom O'Neil wrote afterwards seeing the cine this weekend: "'Les Miserables' could set two records. One would be for a lot of nominations. Currently, that account is captivated by 'Titanic' (1997) and 'All About Eve' (1950), which becoming 14... 'Les Miserables' could [also] set a almanac for a lot of acting bids in one film."
Is 'Les Mis' a slam-dunk for Best Picture?
I wouldn't bet on the agreeable to win just yet. The acreage is competitive, with "Lincoln," "Argo," "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Zero Dark Thirty" in the mix. Another analytical Oscar-race cine -- "Django Unchained" -- will awning this anniversary in time for the New York Blur Critics Circle to vote on the morning of December 3rd. Full disclosure: I'm a affiliate and it's absurd that "Les Mis" will win our best picture. It's just too boilerplate for the group, which may account "The Master," "Zero Dark Thirty," or "Lincoln." Or the Circle may go in a absolutely adverse administration and acme Michael Haneke's "Amour."
The takeaway: "Les Miserables" is a above contender, and a battleground cine adjustment of the berserk accepted mega-musical that opened on Broadway in 1987 and annoyed a countless of bussed-in tourists. That said, accustomed the huge abundance of aptitude -- not alone in acting, singing, staging, costuming and administering -- I would accept been added swept abroad if it had been channeled into a agreeable I like more, say, "A Little Night Music," "The Drowsy Chaperone," or "Promises, Promises."

Leonardo DiCaprio kisses older woman in ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ scene

Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Wolf of Wall Street'

Scandalous belief accept been bouncing about Martin Scorsese's accessible blur "The Wolf of Wall Street" for a while now. There's a arise arena involving some masochistic martini-drinking in which a aide is instructed to serve 'em up until anyone passes out. There were dueling lawsuits a part of the film's producers that accept afresh been settled. And again there's the rumor that arch man Leonardo DiCaprio is not alone traveling to get naked for his role, but he will aswell arise in a agrarian sex arena with assorted humans (guys and girls!)
So why was DiCaprio spotted kissing Joanna Lumley while filming "Wolf" in New York on Tuesday? At 66 years old, English extra Lumley is best accepted for her role on British television alternation "Absolutely Fabulous." (And yes, at 38, DiCaprio is closing in at 30 years her junior.)

Joanna Lumley, left, and Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Wolf of Wall Street'Joanna Lumley, left, that's who!
Written by Terence Winter ("The Sopranos," "Boardwalk Empire"), we would apprehend annihilation abbreviate of a dark, ailing account in "Wolf" -- reportedly abounding of drinking, drugs and added arm-twist behavior. But out of context, it looks added like 1971 May-December romance-themed ball "Harold and Maude."
Joanna Lumley, left, and Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Wolf of Wall Street'
The actualization is added than acceptable deceiving. "Wolf" chronicles the acceleration and abatement of hard-partying '90s agent Jordan Belfort (DiCaprio), who did time for abnegation to abet with law administration if they absurd down on Wall Street bribery in a case involving accumulated cyberbanking and organized crime.
Based on absolute activity events, we don't yet apperceive how DiCaprio and Lumley's characters hotlink up. (Lumley's appearance is alone listed on IMDb.com as "Patricia" - no endure name -- authoritative it difficult to abode her in Belfort's activity story.)
A bulk of added stars are in the Scorsese flick, including, Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Jon Favreau, Spike Jonze and even Rob Reiner. There are aswell a lot of young, adorable ladies -- some of whom we acerb doubtable will be authoritative out with Leo, too; including beginning face Margot Robbie -- in case you're not into the earlier woman thing.
Marking the fifth Scorsese blur DiCaprio has starred in, "Wolf" is due in theaters next year.

Daniel Day-Lewis five facts: The man beneath Lincoln’s Stovepipe hat

Daniel Day-Lewis may just be the greatest amateur alive, but he ability aswell be the a lot of private. Though we don't apperceive abundant about the man, accurately if it comes to his acting process, what we do apperceive absolutely makes us wish to apperceive more. Of course, we absolutely apperceive that Day-Lewis is the accepted Oscar beloved for his shape-shifting achievement as the appellation appearance in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln," accretion advanced this weekend, but actuality are 5 facts about the backstab Oscar champ you ability not know.

1. Day-Lewis's adjustment acting practices accept accomplished allegorical proportions, so abundant so that a Tumblr is adherent to dabbling fun at just how immersive his action is.For example, in adjustment to play disabled Irish biographer and painter Christy Brown in "My Left Foot" (1989), Day-Lewis spent eight weeks at a dispensary for bookish attached patients, remained in a wheelchair throughout cutting except for getting agitated to and from his assorted marks, and insisted on getting beanery fed. For his efforts, Day-Lewis bankrupt two ribs, but he aswell won his aboriginal best-actor Oscar.
2. To play the frontiersman Hawkeye in Michael Mann's "The Last of the Mohicans" (1992), Day-Lewis lived as an 18th-century American Indian might. While spending canicule at a time in the Alabama wilderness, Day-Lewis abstruse how to track, hunt, and derma animals. He abstruse how to body canoes, huck a tomahawk, and shoot his accurate blaster rifle, an accent that became his connected accompaniment -- even during Christmas dinner, reportedly. "If he didn't shoot it, he didn't eat it," Mann told Time magazine.

Good Genes
3. Day-Lewis was built-in into a acclaimed aesthetic family. His father, Cecil Day-Lewis, was a artist laureate of the United Kingdom. His mother, Jill Balcon, was a acclaimed extra on radio, stage, television, and film. His grandfather, Sir Michael Balcon, produced abounding of Alfred Hitchcock's aboriginal films, a part of abounding others. His sister is television chef, cookbook author, and documentary filmmaker Tamasin Day-Lewis.

Better Genes
4. If you anticipate Day-Lewis has absorbing genes, delay till you accommodated his kids! But that's what happens if your wife is writer/director/actress Rebecca Miller, babe of Pulitzer Prize acceptable author Arthur Miller. The brace met if Day-Lewis was authoritative "The Crucible" (1996), a accurate adjustment of Arthur's Tony Award acceptable play. Rebecca and Daniel reside in an 18th aeon home in the Irish countryside with their two kids, Ronan Cal (14) and Cashel Blake (10). "I advance a actual quiet activity if I'm not working," the abundantly antisocial amateur told People. Day-Lewis aswell has addition child, Gabriel Kane (17), with French extra Isabel Adjani. Of course, she's not the alone extra Day-Lewis has been romantically affiliated with, Juliette Binoche, Julia Roberts, Winona Ryder, and Greta Scacchi accept all reportedly abiding for Team Daniel.

5. At first, Day-Lewis didn't wish to play the allotment of Abraham Lincoln. "It seemed a absurd abstraction to me, so I fled," Day-Lewis accepted during Yahoo! Movies absolute Q&A with him and Spielberg. But Spielberg didn't get to area he is today by demography no for an answer. After Day-Lewis and Spielberg's antecedent meeting, the amateur accurate his concerns, which Spielberg and biographer Tony Kushner addressed. "I about ran out of excuses," Day-Lewis continued. "I absolutely accept to feel in some faculty that there's no best ... in this case, in that moment I acquainted I accept no best but to try and accept this thing." You can see from the "Lincoln" affected bivouac aloft that Day-Lewis fabricated the appropriate choice.

Robert Pattinson confirms Team Edward vs. Team Jacob was a marketing ploy

Robert Pattinson, left, says that the originator of the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob "Twilight" rivalry didn't side with either character. (AP)

This weekend marks the final chapter of the "Twilight" series, putting to bed a account of fan fodder associated with the blur -- including the accomplished Aggregation Jacob/Team Edward phenomenon.
Yahoo! Movies afresh sat down with "Twilight" heartthrobs Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, who appear their thoughts about the advancing accessible agitation amid their characters. And while anybody knew the flat got a lot of breadth out of the rivalry, and some are still analytic its authenticity, Pattinson himself, accepted it was a animosity invented absolutely by business strategists.
"That was not from the admirers either. That was affectionate of, uh, marketing," Pattinson slyly appear during our contempo interview. "We're both on the aforementioned team," he joked.

As admirers able-bodied know, Jacob and Edward accept a advancing history throughout a lot of of the series. But now that they accept something actual baby to them they charge to assure -- added than Bella (Kristen Stewart) -- the two hunks of "Twilight" are, cartel we say, friends!

Whoops! Call of Duty: Black Ops II stars Petraeus as Defense Secretary

David Petraeus is depicted in a new video game release. (Kotaku/Activision; Alex Wong/Getty Images)
Well, we apperceive at atomic one allotment of Black Ops II's near-future eyes will not be advancing true.
While the Call of Duty alternation strives for a faculty of actuality amidst the over-the-top bold scenarios — and it usually hits appealing abutting to the mark — accepted contest are casting agnosticism on one affection of Black Ops II: the casting of above CIA administrator David Petraeus as the Secretary of Defense in 2025.
Petraeus appears in the bold on lath an aircraft carrier called the USS Barrack Obama, addendum Kotaku, and serves as a chiffonier affiliate of a changeable admiral (who resembles Hillary Clinton).
While the ashamed arch spy doesn't play an abnormally arresting role in the game, he's harder to miss, assuming up in a few key sequences (which we'll abstain abasement for you) and in a few audio messages. At atomic he didn't yield time abroad from his active aspersion to do any absolute plan for the game, however, as Petraeus' articulation is supplied by an actor.
You can't absolutely accusation the developers of Black Ops II for his inclusion. At the time of the game's development, the sex aspersion surrounding the aggressive hero wasn't on anyone's radar. Picking the CIA arch as the approaching Secretary of Defense fabricated a appropriate bulk of sense. He's a above four-star accepted with 37 years of service, including a assignment as Commander of United States Central Command, which oversees the aggressive efforts in Afghanistan, a part of added countries.
That acclaimed career came to a arrest arrest endure week, though, if an FBI analysis baldheaded an activity amid Petraeus and Paula Broadwell, who co-wrote a adventures of the above general. The FBI analysis started as doubtable cyber-harassment amid Broadwell and Jill Kelley, a Petraeus ancestors friend.
Petraeus isn't the alone arguable aggressive name in the game. Above Lt. Col. Oliver North, who formed as an adviser during the game's creation, is aswell featured -- and food his own voice-work.
Black Ops II is accepted to be addition massive agent for administrator Activision. Countless gamers braved continued brief curve to grab a archetype of the game, which releases today.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart reunite, snuggle

Kristen Stewart, left, and Robert Pattinson, together Monday in Los AngelesStewart, left, and Pattinson, together Monday in Los Angeles (Photo: Christopher Polk/Getty Images)It is the first time they have appeared in public together since the couple's infamous cheating scandal just a few months ago, and Yahoo! Movies has exclusive video of the moment (below).

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart had their public reunion at the world premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" on Monday night in Los Angeles. The two were cozy, even though they separated mere moments after stepping foot on the carpet to do press.
Still, we caught Stewart caressing Pattinson's back as they stood together in front of throngs of fans and media.
First, the couple arrived in separate SUVs that pulled up at the same time and, as Yahoo!'s Michael Yo observed, "Everybody knows who's getting out of them." They stepped out separately -- yet near -- then came together to pose for photos arm and arm while among studio executives.

Before they scooted further along the carpet in the midst of a crowd of people, Stewart was seen saying something quickly to Pattinson then cracking a quick smile. Posing for cameras again, arm and arm, Stewart brushed her hand against Pattinson's back, giving him an ever-so-slight-yet-loving squeeze. Then the couple parted to do more press, but not before giving each other a quick acknowledgment.
We spoke with body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass, who noted it was impressive that Stewart has become the "affectionate aggressor" in the relationship. On the black carpet, Pattinson and Stewart "look very relaxed around one another and she rubs his back which shows she is  supportive of him and affectionate unlike she has been in the past," Glass said. "He has been the affectionate one in the past and now she has reversed her role. She knew that he was going to be interviewed first so the back rub was a good luck to him and a signal of support and affection."

Eddie Murphy’s new love is model Paige Butcher

Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher (Mark Davis/WireImage)Eddie Murphy is showing off some new arm candy! The 51-year-old funny man's latest gal pal is Paige Butcher, an Australian model who's appeared in Maxim, and is reported to be about 20 years Murphy's junior. The couple made a high-profile appearance over the weekend, posing for the cameras on the red carpet at a tribute for the "Beverly Hills Cop" star, a special called "Eddie Murphy: One Night Only," which will air on Spike TV on November 14.

Perhaps Murphy will have better luck with Butcher than he's had with women in the past. Since splitting with his wife of 12 years, Nicole, in 2005, the "Saturday Night Live" alum's conquests have included, among others, Tracey Edmonds, who he married in a symbolic wedding ceremony in 2008 but then decided not to make legal, and Melanie Brown, the former Spice Girl known as Scary Spice. His 2006 split with Mel B grew particularly nasty when she revealed that she was pregnant with his child — and he denied it. Murphy finally acknowledged he was the father of Brown's daughter Angel in 2007, but only after undergoing a paternity test. The little girl is one of eight children Murphy has with multiple women.

Already this year, Murphy has been photographed canoodling with Rocsi Diaz, former host of BET's countdown show "106 & Park," and — if you believe an unnamed source's claim in Us Weekly — songstress and reality star Toni Braxton.
How long do you think Murphy and Butcher will last?

Jolie, Wilde, Farmiga: The women who could have been Bond girls

Angelina Jolie, Olivia Wilde, Vera Farmiga, Eva Green(Photo: Vera Anderson/WireImage, Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images, George Pimentel/WireImage, Jay Maidment/MGM)
Daniel Craig faced some stiff competition back in 2005 when he ultimately won the role of James Bond in "Casino Royale." But as strong as the contenders for the new 007 were, the fight to be his leading lady was, and continues to be, just as intense.
When producers first began searching for an actress to play the role of Bond's love Vesper Lynd in "Casino Royale," some big names were rumored to be in the mix. Angelina Jolie was approached, but she turned it down. Jolie was quoted in the Daily Mail as saying, "They wanted me to play a Bond girl in 'Casino Royale.' 'I said, "Actually, I'd prefer to play him; I'd rather be Bond."  Charlize Theron and Rachel McAdams were two other A-list names who were rumored to be considered for the role.

The search then expanded to other actresses who were lesser known names at the time, but have since gone on to bigger things.  Olivia Wilde was mostly known for her TV work when she auditioned for the role.  She told Total Film she desperately wanted to work with Daniel Craig in the movie: "I screen-tested for that and I wanted it so badly." She didn't get the part of Vesper, but she did get to share the screen with Craig six years later in "Cowboys & Aliens." She said, "I'm happy it didn't work out because we wouldn't have been able to do this, and I think he agreed that this was a better pairing for us."
Vera Farmiga was also in contention for Vesper.  She told The New York Times that the relationship between Bond and Vesper in the script interested her enough to fly to London to audition.  She said, "He never really got over her, and those emotions started to interest me."  Farmiga called the process of auditioning for such a high-profile movie was "like visiting some other acting stratosphere."  She said for her test the costumers gave her "the same kind of fake breasts that Angelina Jolie wore in the first 'Tomb Raider' film."  Farmiga laughingly recalled the audition as "fun in the end... But I also knew I wouldn't get the part."  Farmiga went on to work with Leonardo DiCaprio the next year in Martin Scorsese's "The Departed."
It took so long to find the right Vesper, director Martin Campbell told Movieweb that he had already begun shooting before Eva Green was officially given the role.  Campbell said he was impressed by her role in Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven," even though much of her performance was edited out of the theatrical version. But he responded to the extended director's cut on DVD.

Green herself had trepidations about pursuing the part of a Bond girl. She told Superhero Hype that she initially turned down the chance to audition.  When producers came back to her some time later, she had to fly back-and-forth to Prague twice to screen test.  After her second test with Daniel Craig, she won the role and almost immediately had to jet off to the Bahamas to being filming.

It all worked out for Green, of course. She won the Rising Star Award at the 2007 BAFTAs for her performance in "Casino Royale."  She was last seen in Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows" this past summer, and she has a leading role in next year's "300: Rise of an Empire."
Daniel Craig is joined by two new Bond girls in his upcoming outing, "Skyfall": Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe.  Though Marlohe has said she takes some exception to being referred to as a "girl." She told Bleeding Cool, "Honestly, I consider myself as a Bond Beast."

Harrison Ford says he is open to another ‘Star Wars’ film

Harrison Ford as Han Solo in 'Star Wars' (Photo from Lucas Film)For all those who hope the upcoming "Star Wars" movies are more "original trilogy" than "prequels" -- there is hope: Harrison Ford, who played the scruffy-looking nerferder Han Solo in the original films, will consider reprising his role, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The magazine spoke to a "highly placed source," who said, "Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he's upbeat about it." The mystery source "close to the just-announced 'Star Wars' sequel" went on to explain that Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) are equally enthusiastic about the possibilities.
It's been 29 years since Ford last played the lovable scoundrel. According to legend, the actor very much wanted his character to be killed off in "Return of the Jedi." However, George Lucas ixnayed the idea. In a 2010 interview with ABC News, Ford said, "I thought he should have died in the last one to give it some bottom... George didn't think there was any future in dead Han toys."

According to Dale Pollack, who wrote a biography of Lucas and saw early treatments for Episodes 7, 8, and 9 several years ago, the treatments centered around Skywalker in his 30s or early 40s. "It was originally a 12-part saga," Pollock told the Wrap. "The three most exciting stories were 7, 8, and 9. They had propulsive action, really interesting new worlds, new characters. I remember thinking, 'I want to see these three movies.'"
Ford's publicist had no comment on EW's report. However, if the possibility of Solo making a return in "Episode 7" has you nerding out at light speed, check out Full Scale Falcon. The creators are building a full size replica of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. No, it won't actually fly but that doesn't make it any less awesome.
