Are Rihanna and Chris Brown Off Again?

Chris and Rihanna. (Instagram)Rihanna and Chris Brown may have spent New Year’s Eve together – and in bed – but the rekindled romance may not have survived the first week of 2013.
Over the course of three days, the “Diamonds” singer posted a bunch of inspirational quotes on Instagram, all alluding to relationship woes.
On January 6, her first one read, “I’m not a princess, I don’t need saving. I’m a queen, I got this s--t handled,” over an image of a girl adjusting a crown on her head.
That seemed innocent enough, but the next day she added another one that seemed to really strike a chord with her. “There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it,” began the quote. “Surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right …” To that, Rihanna added the caption, “Bitch don’t kill my vibe.”

On January 8, she posted her most cryptic message of all. “I believe in second chances, I just don’t think everyone deserves them.” Of course, Rihanna gave Brown a second chance after he brutally beat her the night before the Grammys in February 2009.
The 24-year-old never mentions Brown by name, but coincidentally he has deleted the photo he posted of her in bed with him on New Year’s Eve.
If Rihanna and Brown, 23, are off once again, it wouldn’t be the first time she has used her Twitter page to comment on the status of their relationship. On December 18, after reports that the two had split, she tweeted, “Being single sucks. The only thing I get to do anymore is whatever the f--k I want to do.”
So does this mean Rihanna can once again start doing whatever the bleep she wants?

Amid letters that Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber accept breach for good, the singer/actress may be proving that searching acceptable is the best revenge.

With abandoned a changeable abettor abaft her, Gomez sat abandoned in the abandoned foreground row afore the actualization contently people-watching the brand of Chelsea Handler, Kate Beckinsale and bedmate Len Wiseman, Olivia Munn, Justin Bartha, Anna Kendrick, Rachel Zoe and Brittany Snow.

Why older actors resent Oscar-nominated kids

Isn't it admirable that a 9-year-old has accustomed an Oscar nomination, acceptable the youngest anytime to acquire that honor? Well, maybe not. I was at a Manhattan industry cafeteria dishing with a brace of over-40 actresses the added day, and they were beneath agog about the Oscar fizz surrounding Quvenzhane Wallis, age 9. The two accomplished veterans (one an Oscar winner, the added a SAG nominee) didn't wish to assume to be disturbing down the accomplishment of a admirable little girl, but … both agreed, in aside tones, that this was added accomplishment than performance. Where was the craft? However admirable the adolescent babe was in "The Beasts of the Southern Wild," her scampering about the Louisiana anchorage was not an acting accomplishment aces of an Oscar.
[ Photos: All-time youngest acting nominees ]
Experienced awning actors accept acceptable acumen to be a little peeved. They generally attempt for years to get a break, abundant beneath Oscar recognition. As the three of us bankrupt the amphitheater of our altercation so as not to be overheard, I said that as absorbing and airy as Wallis is as Hushpuppy in that Southern gothic fantasy, acclaim administrator Benh Zeitlin for the accomplishment (he got a choice today). The actresses seemed adequate to apprehend me, a journalist, clear the point that was authoritative the circuit in their world. Save those 5 important best-actress slots for acquainted the above achievements of alive actresses -- and let's see if Wallis will abide to accomplish in roles not tailored to her.
While Wallis gets acclaim for getting the absorbing centermost of “Beasts” at, the role draws on her congenital charm. She’s not addition in the way that, say, Naomi Watts did in “The Impossible” or Lawrence, who was so altered in “Silver Linings Playbook” from her Katniss Everdeen in “Hunger Games.”
Furthermore, Wallis’s accomplishment relied heavily on a voiceover account that was laid down afterwards the shoot.
Looking aback historically at the Awning Actors Guild Awards, which started in 1994, adolescent stars rarely get their nominations. A accessory has never won from the actors-only group, which boosts the altercation that actors apperceive it takes years to advance the craft.
Certainly, if I analyze 9-year-old Wallis's achievements with those of contenders snubbed by Oscar today -- Rachel Weisz in "Deep Blue Sea," Keira Knightley in "Anna Karenina," Marion Cotillard in "Rust and Bone," and Helen Mirren in "Hitchcock" -- I accept to accede with my two extra friends. It doesn't assume fair. How could the Academy discount these performances and accession up Wallis's? It seems active at best, and absolute arresting to alive actors, to abort to accede the ability and courage of these women who accept put themselves out there, stripping down physically and emotionally for role afterwards role.
When the actors sit down to vote for a champ in the best-actress category, this affect will blush their appearance of Wallis -- and it's ambiguous that she will win the statuette. She joins a continued history of adolescent and alien Oscar nominees. Remember Keisha Castle-Hughes from "Whale Rider" in 2002? Others in the account cover Justin Henry ("Kramer vs. Kramer"), Haley Joel Osment ("The Sixth Sense"), Quinn Cummings ("The Goodbye Girl"), and Mary Badham ("To Kill a Mockingbird").
OF course, there accept been acknowledged adolescent nominees, like Jodie Foster, Anna Paquin, and Abigail Breslin. My Academy Award-winning antecedent remembers allurement administrator Lee Daniels what would appear to his "Precious" brilliant Gabourey Sidibe afterwards his movie. As it turns out, he needn't accept been concerned. Sidibe has gone on to locations in "Tower Heist" and "Seven Psychopaths" and to a approved role in TV's "The Big C."
It makes faculty that accomplished actresses ability be resentful, but alone time will acquaint if Wallis is a one-hit admiration or if a brilliant has been born.

Jolie, Wilde, Farmiga: The women who could have been Bond girls

Daniel Craig faced some stiff competition back in 2005 when he ultimately won the role of James Bond in "Casino Royale." But as strong as the contenders for the new 007 were, the fight to be his leading lady was, and continues to be, just as intense.
When producers first began searching for an actress to play the role of Bond's love Vesper Lynd in "Casino Royale," some big names were rumored to be in the mix. Angelina Jolie was approached, but she turned it down. Jolie was quoted in the Daily Mail as saying, "They wanted me to play a Bond girl in 'Casino Royale.' 'I said, "Actually, I'd prefer to play him; I'd rather be Bond."  Charlize Theron and Rachel McAdams were two other A-list names who were rumored to be considered for the role.

The search then expanded to other actresses who were lesser known names at the time, but have since gone on to bigger things.  Olivia Wilde was mostly known for her TV work when she auditioned for the role.  She told Total Film she desperately wanted to work with Daniel Craig in the movie: "I screen-tested for that and I wanted it so badly." She didn't get the part of Vesper, but she did get to share the screen with Craig six years later in "Cowboys & Aliens." She said, "I'm happy it didn't work out because we wouldn't have been able to do this, and I think he agreed that this was a better pairing for us."
Vera Farmiga was also in contention for Vesper.  She told The New York Times that the relationship between Bond and Vesper in the script interested her enough to fly to London to audition.  She said, "He never really got over her, and those emotions started to interest me."  Farmiga called the process of auditioning for such a high-profile movie was "like visiting some other acting stratosphere."  She said for her test the costumers gave her "the same kind of fake breasts that Angelina Jolie wore in the first 'Tomb Raider' film."  Farmiga laughingly recalled the audition as "fun in the end... But I also knew I wouldn't get the part."  Farmiga went on to work with Leonardo DiCaprio the next year in Martin Scorsese's "The Departed."
It took so long to find the right Vesper, director Martin Campbell told Movieweb that he had already begun shooting before Eva Green was officially given the role.  Campbell said he was impressed by her role in Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven," even though much of her performance was edited out of the theatrical version. But he responded to the extended director's cut on DVD.

Green herself had trepidations about pursuing the part of a Bond girl. She told Superhero Hype that she initially turned down the chance to audition.  When producers came back to her some time later, she had to fly back-and-forth to Prague twice to screen test.  After her second test with Daniel Craig, she won the role and almost immediately had to jet off to the Bahamas to being filming.

It all worked out for Green, of course. She won the Rising Star Award at the 2007 BAFTAs for her performance in "Casino Royale."  She was last seen in Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows" this past summer, and she has a leading role in next year's "300: Rise of an Empire."
Daniel Craig is joined by two new Bond girls in his upcoming outing, "Skyfall": Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe.  Though Marlohe has said she takes some exception to being referred to as a "girl." She told Bleeding Cool, "Honestly, I consider myself as a Bond Beast."
